Why your knee hurts
The knee sits between the hip and the ankle and often pays for what happens above or below it. What I see most often:
- pain around the kneecap – when squatting, going up stairs or after sitting for a long time with bent knees,
- ‘runner’s knee’ – pain on the outer side of the knee,
- overloaded tendons below the kneecap, typically in jumping sports,
- weaker glutes or a stiff ankle, which change how the knee moves.
How I work
- Initial assessment – we talk about where and when it hurts, what makes it worse and how you move during the day.
- Diagnosis – by looking, movement and touch.
- Manual therapy – manual release of muscle chains in their wider context.
- Targeted exercises – targeted exercise for strength and long-term relief.
